Can you believe that next week launches 2015!?!? Every year I like to take a look back and do a “Year in Review” post. Come along with me as I take a look at what happened in 2014!
In January I attended my first blogging conference – Food Blog South in Birmingham, Alabama. I had a wonderful time! I learned so much and met some great bloggers and food professionals.
I also attended the local blogging event “Downtown with RCB” – RCB being the Rocket City Bloggers. It was hosted at the AL.com building and had a great turnout.
In March I did a photo shoot at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
We went on a trip to Tennessee and I took my son and his girlfriend up to Bays Mountain Park and we hiked around the lake up there. It was a nice time.
I also attended Strategy 2014 – a local social media conference. I fully intend on going to the 2015 one as well.
In April I really started getting into vlogging. I enjoy making them and watching vlogs of others, though I haven’t found much time for it lately. Hopefully that will change soon. One of my vlogs that I did was the “Conni’s Crappy Kitchen” tour. The next time you say you can’t cook because you don’t have a fancy, modern kitchen – I want you to remember this little video.
Oh, and my son took his sweetie to the Homeschool Prom.
May was a rough month. On Mother’s Day we said goodbye to our sweet little Bear. He was 16 years old and had been through so much with us over the years. My heart still aches when I see this little face.
We went on a trip to Tennessee, and a couple days after this photo was taken, Mamaw & Papaw’s sweet little Belle passed away too.
In June we went on a trip to Oxford, Mississippi and we had the famous “BBQ in a gas station.”
I also finally, finally, finally got to meet my dear friend Catherine face-to-face! We met in Nashville and spent the day at the Loveless Cafe. What a great time and how awesome to finally meet the lady that got me into blogging!
And though I realize I never formally introduced her – we added our little Chena to the family. If you follow me on Instagram or YouTube, you’ve met her before.
She’s gotten a lot bigger since then.
In July we had the RCB Connect! event. This was another networking event by the Rocket City Bloggers. This one was hosted at the Space & Rocket Center!
In July my husband and I went on a road trip and hauled a truck up to Ohio for a friend. On the way back down we stopped in Liberty, Kentucky and saw my dear friend Catherine again – this time in her lovely new bakery!
In August I had the honor of taking part in the Huntsville Restaurant Week. What did I do? I attended three special lunches and blogged all about it!
Something else that happened in August? My daughter got engaged!
September marked the beginning of our house hunting process…and it was a rocky start.
We also went on another trip to Tennessee.
While there were lots of things that took place in October, there is one thing that took precedence over everything else for our family. A Wedding.
In November I did a three generation photo shoot for this lovely family!
And my other biggy – attending a concert of my favorite band in the world – Third Day. This is literally the only band I ever scour through tour dates and locations, hoping they come anywhere near, and they did!

Oh…and I got my hair cut. So much from growing it out anytime soon!
Looking back, 2014 was a great year. I wonder what 2015 will have in store. Thanks for coming on this journey with me!
