Last week I took a little walk around the pasture with my camera and snapped a few photos. I couldn’t believe that on August 20th, the leaves were already turning on some of the trees back there.

The mimosa trees have gone to “bean.”

I love the beautiful colors of autumn, but I love the cooler temperatures even more. Hopefully those will be soon following!

  1. I live in Kansas and so far I haven’t seen any leaves turning here, but there is a feeling in the air that we will have an early Fall this year. I’m 74 and have seen many seasonal changes… it’s just something you feel. Also there tends to be many more spider webs closer to the ground. All of this well before leaves change color, although I’ve seen a few freak cold snaps or snow that just destroyed the garden and caused the leaves to turn practically overnight.

The same with Spring, yes you can feel it too. However, I can’t feel when Summer or Winter starts… I guess they’re more subtle? Except for the obvious…you know 100 degrees or -10 degrees. LOL

  2. I really enjoyed your pictures which you would have thought were taken in mid to late September and not late August. I am in the mountains of the southern area of West Virginia. Our leaves haven’t changed as much as yours have which surprises me. Wonder why some trees are changing so early in your area?
