When Jennifer and I headed to downtown Fairbanks to take pictures on Friday, we took some photos outside a shop with an interesting mural on the wall.
What you couldn’t really see from the pictures, was that it was of a giant peacock. You can NOT miss this shop when you drive down the street. I have seen it a few times, and after utilizing their mural for my own use, decided to go inside…..
It is a consignment shop full of VERY cool vintage things. Everything is in nice condition, not like some junky “thrift” shops you go into sometimes. In addition to vintage, there is lots and lots of new things too, jewelry, hats, even clothing made by local artists. I could spend a week in there, and will definitely have to go back! (There is a vintage purse that has been calling my name since I left!)
The shop is called Chartreuse.
And here’s is what I found hilarious. When we walked in, the proprieter greeted us and asked us if there was anything in particular we were looking for, and I told her that we had never been in, and just had to come see what the shop was.
She lit up, and said, “Oh! You haven’t been here?! You have to see the bathroom!”
You heard me right.
I mean, usually when you walk into a private shop, the bathroom is not what the owners want you heading towards first…not this one!
And all I could say was WOW!
And check out this chandelier!
How cool is this bathroom! I want this bathroom! But I think my husband might have serious objections.
