The elegant Grille 29 is located in the Providence area of Huntsville, Alabama and was the final stop on our Rocket City Food Blogger Tour.
For starters, we were treated to dainty cranberry muffins.
Next, our server, Jennifer, brought out plates of their famous Chicken and Waffles, served with a pecan butter sauce and fruit. What what was once a special, is now a regular item on the menu due to the intense demand for it.
No brunch is complete without a mimosa!
For restaurant Week, Grille 29 is offering a two course lunch for $15 or a 3 course dinner for $30. The dinner consists of Roasted Peach Salad, Braised Short Ribs with mashed Potatoes and Asparagus and the Cheesecake of the Day for dessert.
The lunch begins with Gazpacho – homemade chilled summer soup with tomatoes, cucumbers & bell peppers with a bonus of jumbo lump crab.
The second course is their Cast Iron Shrimp & Grits – blackened shrimp with peppered andouille (my favorite sausage!) gravy over a creamy white corn cheese grits. And of course, it is served in a cast iron skillet.
Have I mentioned how much I love cheesy grits? Having grown up in the Mid-West, I ate things like oatmeal and “cream-o-wheat” for a hot breakfast. Grits never entered my life until I started basic training in the army, and discovered this Southern staple.
Sour Cream Fudge Cake – just look at that ice cream and chocolate sauce getting all cozy with one another.
One of my favorite desserts…cheesecake!
