Fairbanks continues to get under my skin, and embed itself deeply into my heart.

This weekend, Fairbanks had the Midnight Sun festival. Several streets and blocks were barricaded off, and tents, stages and displays went up.
1

Every block had something going on. There was a “break dancing” stage.
2
One of several bands.
3
There were Roller Derby Girls…
4
And gold panning
5
Skateboard tricks
6
And artists

I want these bumper stickers!

In case you can’t see them well, the one of the left says:

Alaska Chainsaw Club
One and a half thumbs up!

And the one on the right says:

Alaska Cabin Club
No Water, No Toilet, No Problem!

Hehehehe!
The Ice Museum marquee. Spunky as usual.
10
The US Army’s Arctic Show Band performed….they were really good!
11
This couple thought so too, as they danced to the music.
12
But my two favorite things of the festival were these. The Russian dancers.
13
Look at her expression. So completely enjoying what she was doing.

15
And my other favorite was this.
In the lower 48, they have bull-riding machines.
They are fun and silly….for kids of all ages.
But in Alaska, you don’t see many farms.
People wrangle other things up here.
Like Salmon.
16
Another nice time in Fairbanks.
