Here is a quick kitchen tip for you. When I bake, I normally coat all my pans with this. It is a mixture I call “Pan-Ease” – because it makes things easy to get out of the pan!
Simply mix equal parts shortening, flour and oil using a bowl and mixer or food processor. I usually go with about a half cup of each. I have used both vegetable oil, and extra virgin olive oil (which you see here.)
Mix until smooth.
Then store it in a jar in your fridge. When you need it, just brush it on your pans. I use this for any recipe that calls for a greased, or greased and floured baking dish.
It makes my life easier!
