Last night the hubby and I went out on a rare date night. This was the first event of Huntsville’s Restaurant Week – a Night Out with the Chefs. I’m so glad I got the tickets when I did, because this event sold out quick!
And who are the chefs?
Have I mentioned that I love it when events have selfie stations? Want people to promote your event on social media? Set up a selfie station and they will be all over it like Christy and I!
Each chef prepared a sampling of some of their favorite dishes – and each was paired with a locally brewed beer from Straight to Ale – where the event took place. Our first of the evening was a crostini with marinara (if I remember correctly) and a dollop of Mmmmmm….. belle chevre – from Chris McDonald.
My husband is still talking about Matt Martin’s shrimp & grits! I’m not a shrimp fan, but this was really, really good. Those creamy, cheesy grits!
Christy Jordan was our MC of the evening, asking questions of the chefs and keeping everyone entertained. She did a great job!
Merle Phillip prepared chicken cordon blue crepes.
And last but not least – Matt London shared amazing fresh peach sorbet. Can I get a tub of this to go please?
It was a wonderful evening with great food and great beer for the hubby. I hope we get the chance to go to another of these!
I’m looking forward to seeing what else Huntsville’s Restaurant Week has in store!
