I recently began using a new app on my phone called “Open Table.”
Open Table is an app that helps you make reservations at local restaurants. Not all restaurants are using this of course, but more and more seem to be jumping on board with it.
When you open the app, you set up an account with your name and contact information. Then Open Table will use your location to find participating restaurants nearby. You can view the list, or you can view the map to see where the restaurants are.
Select how many people you are making the reservation for as well as the day and approximate time you would like to go out to eat.
Open table then shows you which restaurants have an opening for the number of people you need on that day, and the times that are available.
With a few taps, you make your reservation at the restaurant and time you would like.
Some restaurants have their menus available right there in the app.
You can also see reviews by other Open Table users.
With each reservation you make and honor, you earn points. Those points add up to dollars you can use towards any restaurant that uses the app – $20, $50 or even $100 off, depending on how many points you have earned.
I think this is a great app for people who are traveling. You can effortlessly find a restaurant near you and make a reservation. It will also come in handy for those last minute dinner plans – no need to call multiple restaurants only to find out they are all booked. With this app, you can see exactly who has something available.
Open Table is a free app, so you might want to give it a try!
