One of the things I love about my new home, is their love of foodies! Everytime I turn around there is another fantastic food-related event going on here in the Tennessee Valley. I am tickled to share this creative foodie event…The Rocket Chef!
Inspired by shows like Iron Chef and Chopped, this event will feature a variety of local chefs.
They will be tested.
They will be tried.
And they will be timed – in front of a live audience and judges! Every bit of this fun event is for a great cause.
From the website:
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Food Bank of North Alabama and Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center, both 501(c)(3) organizations. The Food Bank of North Alabama provides food assistance to over 105,000 people in North Alabama, through a network of over 200 partner feeding agencies! Programs include shelters for the homeless, soup kitchens, special residential facilities for children or handicapped individuals, low-income day care providers, after school programs, emergency food pantries, and shelters for abused women and children. Merrimack Hall’s Johnny Stallings Arts Program provides arts education and social and cultural opportunities to more than 500 children, teens and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities (e.g. Down syndrome, autism, cancer and cerebral palsy).
You can give your favorite chef a head start – and help them win some special perks!
