Our last sunrise has come at Fort Wainwright. Today we hit the road! Heading down the Al-Can Highway – through the Yukon and British Columbia, back to the Lower 48. Over the next couple weeks, I will be sharing our journey with you. Ready or not, here we go!!!
Tonight we went on a little outing for our last trip to the World Ice Art Championship.
Today we had a fantastic day. The weather held around 0 degrees, and we headed southeast about an hour to Birch Lake. I have to say, I don’t know that I would make a good Ice Road Trucker – it’s a little unnerving driving on a frozen lake…though it was beautiful!
In the last couple weeks, I have gone berry picking a couple of times with my new neighbors. The first time we went, we picked wild Raspberries and Blueberries. This time, while there were blueberries everywhere…I chose to focus on the wild cranberries. After all…Autumn is coming, and that means CRANBERRY SAUCE!!! Mmmmm.
