The 42nd annual Taste of Huntsville event in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Taste of Huntsville event is an annual fundraiser that helps support two local charities.
Serving Hope, Inc.
Serving Hope, Inc. teaches employment skills through a 7 month curriculum developing character, self-confidence and work ethics.
From their website:
“Serving Hope by teaching food service work and life skills through Christ’s love.
Our mission succinctly sums up our desires for Serving Hope, Inc. At Serving Hope we seek to teach the under-served communities of Huntsville and greater Madison County life skills and job skills through hands on training, and help them to achieve their ServSafe certification upon completion of this program. The work students put in during their time with Serving Hope is to encourage them to invest in themselves. The skills and certification obtained from our program will aid our graduates in finding gainful employment and build character. Our ultimate goal is to be an institution that helps build family prosperity and in turn community development through the hope and love of Jesus Christ. We wish to be a ‘Hand Up’ not a ‘Hand Out’ to those who need it most.”
Merrimack Hall also teaches children, teens and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities through their Happy HeARTs Arts Program.
Part of the Taste of Huntsville event includes a silent auction. Items donated include everything from artwork and jewelry to fine dining and spa treatments.
But of course the event gets its name from the many restaurants who bring their best game to the event! You get to spend the evening, going from booth to booth trying some of the best cuisine in the greater Huntsville area. It is a wonderful date night that supports a great cause, and also lets you discover restaurants you may have not yet heard of.
Have I mentioned that you could even sample beers from local breweries?
The atmosphere at this event is so uplifting, with smiling faces everywhere you look.
Oh and speaking of the food…this was my first plate of the goodies that I had the pleasure to try this night. Here you see a bison slider, Oreo cake with Bailey’s, chicken with Brussels sprouts and eel sauce, sweet potato fries and more. Man alive! I had a hard time choosing my favorite.
Many of the restaurants got creative with how they displayed their goodies.
There was really something for everyone at the Taste of Huntsville event.
Need a break between plates of food? How about a game of corn hole?
This was the second time I have attended Taste of Huntsville. It was equally as enjoyable an experience this time as it was the last time I attended. I am looking forward to attending again next year, and the fact that this event supports such great causes is frosting on the delicious cake.

I was invited to this event by Serving Hope, Inc. as a media representative. Thank you to Serving Hope, Inc. for the invitation. It was an honor to attend and help spread the word about this great cause.
