Some time ago I started using Urbanspoon for looking at restaurants, finding new places to eat and sharing reviews. I recently tried to log into Urbanspoon only to be prompted to download Zomato instead.
Zomato has absorbed all of the Urbanspoon accounts, which is good. You see, I have many posts on my website about restaurants, and they include the links back to the corresponding Urbanspoon pages for the reviews.
I loved Urbanspoon, but what I didn’t like was that there was only the option of “Like” or “Don’t Like.” What if you didn’t hate a restaurant, but didn’t like it enough for a “thumbs up?” What about those “meh” restaurants?
Well, Zomato gives you a much better option for rating restaurants, with a number scale system.
Not familiar with Urbanspoon or Zomato? Here’s some screen shots to show you what it has to offer…
All of the images and reviews that were on Urbanspoon are now over on Zomato. The reviews that were migrated from Urbanspoon are labeled “positive” and “negative” for reference.
A feature that I don’t recall being on Urbanspoon was there – you draw a circle on the map of where you want to eat, and it will bring up all of the restaurants in that circle.

Zomato has a point system for the users too…I’m a “Super Foodie!”
Overall, I like the changes and look forward to continuing to use it!
