A few weeks ago, I headed to a local restaurant in the adorable little downtown area of the town I live in – Hartselle, Alabama.
You know, over the years I have learned to judge a restaurant’s quality by what it looks like at lunch time. If the restaurant is packed every day at lunch, chances are you are in for a treat. When I walked in the door to Bentley’s it was a full house. I literally got the last seat in the place.
Bentley’s is known for their handmade, made to order burgers. After checking their menu though, I decided to go with a steak & cheese sandwich. I asked for Swiss cheese instead of American…because to be honest, I am not a fan of American cheese. They were happy to make the substitution. I also ordered a side of onion rings and a sweet tea to drink.
Isn’t this a gorgeous sandwich? I’m happy to say, that it tasted just as good as it looks.
And the onion rings? Super crunchy and perfectly cooked. They were the best onion rings I had had in a while. Don’t you love it when you find a local, family restaurant that has great food as well?
I’m definitely looking forward to visiting this place again in the future to try out their famous burgers.
