This morning as I did my chores here on the homestead, I glanced over at the chickens and notice something amiss.
Two of my younger hens were up on top of the run. Moments later, one of them was on the peak of the roof of the coop. I knew that was going to spell trouble, and sure enough. A couple hours later one of them was out and running around. Because we have an overly abundant coyote population (as well as other predators) this is a big “no-go” on our homestead. So that meant it was time to clip some wings.
Clipping a chicken’s wings does not hurt the chicken, as long as you are careful and do it right. Watch the video below, and you can see this process demonstrated.
