Last weekend, we headed up to Tennessee for a visit with family. My sisters-in-law and their husbands came to town, as well as our nephew and his wife and kids. We had a great time catching up and it had been some time since we had seen everyone. On Saturday morning we headed out – I ran a couple errands while they all got pedicures. I’m not keep on people touching my feet.
After that we all went to a local winery there in East Tennessee, called the Corey Ippolito Winery. Even in the dead of winter, this is a quaint and peaceful place to visit.
The winery is a lovely venue for weddings, and I certainly want to come again in the summer to see it in its full splendor.
All of the wines that they make, are made from grapes that they grow right there on their land. They don’t ship in grapes from other places, and take great pride in being local. They have a nice little tasting room where for $5 you can taste all of their wines and even keep the wine glass that you sampled them in.
The Corey Ippolito Winery offers 10 varieties of wines – reds and whites.
From left to right: My nephew’s wife, Allison, yours truly, my sister-in-law Brandy, Mamaw and my other sister-in-law Lisa. We had a wonderful time hanging out, having a “ladies day out,” sampling some wines, cheeses and hearing about their family history. If you are traveling through east Tennessee, they are located just off if I-81, so stop on by.
