I recently had another opportunity to visit my local Bonefish Grill and try out some of their latest goodies on the menu. I have to say, that I love it when they send me these invitations, because as much as I love seafood, I hate cooking it at home. I make it, it tastes great, but the next day in never fails – the whole house smells like fish! So I much prefer to eat out for seafood and often have it when given the chance.
On this particular evening that I headed out, I had contacted several friends to go with me because my son was busy and my husband was out of town for business. No body was free to join me. I didn’t let that deter me though. While my son was busy at his event, I headed to Bonefish Grill to have my own private “me date.”
I started my peaceful evening with a blackberry sangria.
I sipped on that while I nibbled on some of their fresh bread.
You know, while I was there enjoying my quiet evening, I remembered seeing a question posed a long time ago. It asked people if they had the nerve to walk into a restaurant and eat alone. I can’t imagine why that would be such a scary thing. I mean, there’s lots of things that a person would do alone out in public, why not eat at a table for one? Have some alone time, treat yourself to a great meal and enjoy it!
Up next, I had their Calamari with sweet spicy Asian sauce. And I had it all. to. my. self.
For my entree, I selected something from their specials of the day – Bacon Butter Jam Norwegian Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli.
It was a truly lovely evening. Everything was delicious, as always and my waitress was the sweetest thing ever. If you have never had a chance to eat out at a nice restaurant alone, don’t let your lack of company dissuade you from going.
After all, you are great company!
