This week the hubby – Jeff, and I went out with another couple – dear friends Wayne & Stephanie – and we visited Bonefish Grill to try out their Fall specials.
I sipped on a lovely fresh apple martini while I perused the menu.
We started off the evening with a plate of calamari. Tender and crisp at the same time, and the dipping sauce? I’d love that recipe.
I ordered a creamy bowl of corn chowder with lump crab meat. Delicious!
And another starter that graced our table was the lobster-stuffed shrimp with a creamy lemon caper butter sauce.
My entré selection was the Swordfish + Pumpkin Ravioli topped with feta, crispy sage and shallot brown butter and spaghetti squash.
Jeff’s selection for the evening was the Malbec Marinated Steak & Shrimp. A center cut sirloin topped with wood-grilled shrimp and served with Dona Paula Los Cardos Malbec sauce.
Wayne, selected the Pan Roasted Snapper and Shrimp – topped with grape tomatoes, cilantro, scallions, white wine scampi sauce, served with herbed couscous and green beans.
And finally Stephanie’s entrée was the wood grilled Atlantic salmon with bacon jam butter, couscous and spaghetti squash.
Now us being a group of good food-loving people, we of course all sampled everything that was set on the table. My favorite? The salmon with that insane bacon jam butter – I want to take a bath in it!
Bonefish Grill has officially made the “Will Come Again” list – which I have to admit, is quite a feat!
A couple more of the seasonal offerings include the Hickory Smoked Salmon served with chilled pickled onion, brioche toast and red remoulade – perfectly paired with Eroica Riesling to complement the flavors of each component and the Vintner’s Burger with wood-grilled American Kobe beef, caramelized onions, Danish blue cheese and red wine jam creates a party in your mouth paired with the luscious Doña Paula Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Don’t forget dessert – how about a Sangria Flatbread – brioche flatbread topped with a berry sangria preserve, mascarpone cheese, candied pecans + drizzled with a creamy wine custard sauce.
