My family, my aunt & uncle (black and yellow shirts) and my parents (white & green shirts)
On Sunday morning, we got up and headed into Wisconsin on our 4th day of driving.
Stopping at a rest stop in Wisconsin.
Shortly after leaving this rest stop, I got the very first up-close look at a Bald Eagle that I have ever gotten in my whole life. It literally choked me up. Little did I know, that my first would soon be followed by several more sightings.
This brings back many memories. We came here nearly every summer when I was a kid.
Some of the beautiful rock formations along I-90 in Wisconsin.
At a rest stop.
As we “La Crosse” the Mississippi, we will be On Alaska-bound highways. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)
The Mississippi River.
While I was off logging a geocache, my family saw 4 bald eagles across the river! I missed it.
It is a bad picture, but a couple miles down the road… a bald eagle flying alongside
Then as we neared our destination, we took a short detour into Austin, Minnesota. Yes. This is a SPAM museum.
No, I didn’t go in to sample the….um….goodies?
Albert Lea, Minnesota…home of Vikings.
Remember the sea of wind turbines? Here is one of the blades. Josh is standing in front of it.
Around the lake at Myre Big-Island State Park, were hundreds of these cormorants.
I hadn’t seen one of these in years!
This was in a camp spot. I have no idea.
And On the Road Again…
