Cookies & Advertising
I love cookies – chocolate chip, oatmeal, snickerdoodles – all sorts of cookies. But there are other cookies found on this website (and pretty much any website now-a-days.) It is a tiny piece of data that your computer saves and is used to track your traffic. have you logged into Facebook, and checked the box to stay logged in each time you visit? That’s a cookie. Ever do a search for a particular product, and then next thing you know, you are seeing ads for that very kind of product? It’s the cookies that track that and are used to show you advertising that is relevant to you. Cookies are used on Cosmopolitan Cornbread for that very reason, and also to remember if you are a new visitor or one of my wonderful regulars. I don’t see the information from the cookies, and can’t personally do anything with them. They don’t tell me who you are, nor anything about you. The cookies are used to show you advertisements that are tailored to interests you have shown by your past browsing history both here on Cosmopolitan Cornbread and other sites you have visited. The companies that supply these ads may collect non-personal meta-data like your browser type, your operating system, what website you’ve visited, what time you visit and other general information. The use of that meta-data is subject to their own privacy policies, not mine.
Cosmopolitan Cornbread uses Google Analytics to help understand and improve the user’s experience on the website. Google Analytics collects information on your IP address but it is only used to track your visitor behavior on Cosmopolitan Cornbread.com, and your broad location (by country/state). Your IP address as collected by Google Analytics cannot be used by Cosmopolitan Cornbread to identify you.
The type of information collected includes content viewed, pages, site sections and videos. By learning this information it shows us what content, recipes or articles are most attractive to our visitors, and helps determine what we share more of in the future.
Most webs browsers can be set to delete all cookies each time you close your browser if you like. You can also opt-out of this collection by turning off the cookies permission in your browser.
