Save money in the garden by making your own DIY Seed Starter Soil
When you are starting your seeds for your garden, making your own seed starter is very easy to do. Yes, you can go to the garden store and buy the pre-made kind, but you can save money by doing it yourself.
You can also get a head start on the season before you local garden centers may even have it in stock.
How to Make You Own Seed Starter
Basic Seed Starter
- 3 parts garden soil
- 3 parts compost
- 4 parts peat
Mix it all together, making sure to remove any large chunks or pieces before you use it.
Dry Climate Seed Starter
- 1 part perlite
- 1 part vermiculite
- 8 parts coconut fiber (coir)
