A few weeks ago I was driving down the road and was stopped at a red light on Main Street in Hartselle, Alabama. I turned my head to look around, saw a brand new sign on the window…and gasped!
What?! What is that?! Is that a coffee shop sign in the window there? Why yes it was!
I was so excited that I immediately grabbed my camera and instagramed it. Then I vlogged it too! I’m sure the person in the window (I think they were sweeping the floor) must have thought I was crazy.
The moment I got home, I sat down at the computer and started searching for the Old Town Coffee Company. It took a while, but eventually I found their brand new facebook page. I was the first person to “like” it. Then of course I contacted them to find out when they would be opening. I wasn’t stalking them at all, or anything.
Well, last week they officially opened. I already had plans on opening day, but you know I had to stop in on my way to where I was going. They opened at 7:30 on Tuesday morning, and I believe I walked through the door at 7:31.
And guess what? I was their very first customer! I totally have bragging rights, hehehe.
The coffee shop is located in downtown historic Hartselle, just minutes from Huntsville, Madison and Decatur. It is right on Main Street (Highway 36) and nestled in the perfect location to be frequented by all of those that come to Hartselle for the antiquing or for the bridal shops.
Old Town Coffee Company offers coffee (of course), as well as baked goods, sandwiches, soups and more. They even have gourmet popcicles, perfect for this “death heat” that you know I loathe.
On my first trip, I got a simple “flat white” coffee.
On my most recent trip, I got a mocha, along with a chicken salad sandwich. Delicious!
With exposed brick, reclaimed wood and recycled metal roofing, this shop has a beautiful rustic charm, and plenty of seating areas to choose from.
I foresee many, many visits here. Who knows, you might even run into me there – like Denise and her husband did! (She recognized me from YouTube and came to say hello. I love when you all do that!)
