Some people see squirrels along side the road when they are driving home.
Here, we certainly see squirrels….but we also see other things.
Much, much bigger things.
Yesterday, my daughter and I were going home from post, and we saw those large things about half a mile from our house.
We were going across a bridge, when I glanced over and saw one walking on the frozen river. I turned around, went back and had my daughter jump out to get a picture, because there was no where for me to park.
I turned around, and picked her up and went back across the bridge. Then I decided to park and see if I could walk closer and get some potentially better pictures.
Well, by the time I got over there, it had already headed into the tree line.
I was so disappointed, but I headed back to the van. As I was walking back over there, I could hear LARGE things moving through the trees, and I thought to myself, “I wish one would walk right out so I could get some pictures.”
As I approached the van, I told Jennifer that the moose was gone, and then I saw it.
Standing about 25 yards right behind my van, was another moose!
We sat there staring at each other for the longest time.
I took a few pictures and just smiled to myself. I love God’s creation!
And I sure love living in Alaska!
