Yesterday we came home from Tennessee and were invited to join friends for pizza at a local restaurant Pane e Vino Pizzeria.
Pane e Vino Pizzeria is located in the downstairs of the Huntsville Art Museum and looks out onto Big Spring Park.
I started off with a delicious cappuccino.
Even on a Monday evening, this restaurant was full. Thankfully our friends had made a reservation for us all. The staff was friendly and professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. You can sit in the dining room, or outside on the patio with the view of the park. On the evening that we were there, there were torch lanterns burning beautifully.
I’ll be honest – I completely forgot to take a photo of my pizza, but it was amazing. The pizzas are 12 inch – so depending on your appetite, I think it could feed one to three people.
I ordered the “Jackson Pollock” – chicken, tomatoes, pesto, mozzarella, Romano, and red onion. ($12)
Oh. My. Word. It was delicious in the restaurant and leftovers were just as good the next day for lunch.
My boys ordered the “Salvador Dali” – mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, meatball, bacon, and salami. ($13)
We have a new favorite pizza place!
After we enjoyed our fantastic supper, we walked outside and strolled down the second annual Tinsel Trail.
Local businesses or organizations sponsor trees to be decorated in the park – over 200 of them! The decorations range from the classic and simple to the over-the-top. There were several patriotic ones.
This was my boys’ favorite tree….the Chick-fil-A tree.
Look! It’s Mr. Peabody!
The boys {gasp!} hugged and hopped down the trail because they were cold. For about 5 seconds.
Beautiful.
The trees are lit up from 5pm-Midnight, and the trail will be available until January 2nd. You can take a stroll through the park, enjoying the trees, listen to Christmas music being piped through the speakers – or maybe even spend some time ice skating in the rink!
Thank you Constance – I love Christmas trees.
