Every year I like to take a look back and see what all of your favorites were during the past year.
Before I share the Top 10, here’s a couple honorable mentions that were wildly popular, but didn’t quite make the Top 10 list.

The Top 10 Recipes of 2018
So without further ado.. here’s the countdown!
Growing up, Pineapple Upside Down Cake was my absolutely favorite cake. I requested for my mom to make it for most birthdays. Then as an adult, my kids would even bake it for me when my birthday rolled around.
From the time I posted this recipe for delicious homemade tortillas, it has been consistently in my top ten of recipes, and is by far my top recipe of ALL TIME. If you have never had homemade tortillas…you NEED to try these.
Kartoffelpuffer – or German Potato Pancakes are another recipe I grew up eating. Every big holiday we would have a family feast at mid-day. Then spend the afternoon playing games, telling stories and simply enjoying ourselves. Then when supper time rolled around, my mom or one of my grandmothers would head into the kitchen to make these.
At the mid-day feast, a huge batch of mashed potatoes would have been made, but at supper time, the remaining mashed potatoes would be made into these pancakes. I think a massive batch of mashed potatoes was made, just so there would be leftovers for these.
These tender pork chops are smothered in a scrumptious gravy. A gravy filled with caramelized onions. You just can’t get much better than this. This recipe became an instant family favorite the first time I made it.
I don’t know if it is what I named these meatballs, or how delicious they are (because Boy Howdy! They are GOOD!) but this recipe instantly sky-rocketed to the top and has consistently stayed there ever since. I can always tell when hunting season arrives in the northern states, because it pops right back up in my stats.
Of course you don’t have to be a moose hunter to make these. Now a days I make them with beef.
Strawberry Jalapeño Jam is a surprising jam. First of all with jalapeño peppers dotted throughout it, you may be led to think that this is a spicy jam. Nothing could be further from the truth. The jalapeño peppers have no heat since this seeds are removed, but they also serve another purpose. Some how the jalapeño peppers actually accentuate the flavor of the strawberries. If you want to give the best jam you ever had a try… this is the one to make.
I love when I see an old-fashioned classic gain popularity again. Here’s another special dish from my childhood. I grew up eating this each summer.

Most anyone loves homemade pizza, but what do you do when you need pizza dough but don’t have any yeast in the house or the time for make traditional dough? Easy! You make pizza dough that doesn’t need yeast.
The fact that this recipe is so popular, simply goes to show that even the most busy people want to enjoy a home cooked meal.
Here’s another old-fashioned recipe that has made a huge impression on my readers. This recipe for Baking Soda Biscuits continues to be one of my most popular recipes. I make these biscuits when I make my post-Thanksgiving Creamed Turkey recipe.
And that brings us to our number one of the year. I have to admit, that this was a recipe I almost didn’t share. I mean, it is so simple, who would be interested in making this?
Needless to say, I was surprised that this recipe shot straight to the top. My guess is that there is a whole lot of people that live in urban areas who want to enjoy bratwurst, but don’t have the ability to grill them outside. That is why I cooked them this way myself. Living in an apartment in Germany was not conducive to grilling.
