Unlike some of our last camping trips, this one was heavy on the wildlife.
We didn’t see one of the sources of this track, but we saw lots of other things.
That was a bear in case you couldn’t tell.
Here’s another track….of a MONSTER moose!
Besides the ducks and gulls we saw at the waterside, we also saw this grouse, and several ptarmigan.
These were the first moose we saw at the camping area….we had seen two others on the drive there.
They stood there for a very long time, just watching us and grazing.
The next day, we saw this guy.
Like the cow and calf moose…he just stood there munching away. He’d look at us and keep on munching.
Saturday evening, we went on a little drive, and saw this large female.
We also saw this young bull…around 3 years old.
On that drive, I also saw something that I wish I could have snapped a picture of! It was a mama moose crossing the road with TWO calves in tow! But they bolted into the woods too quickly.
The morning we left, Joshua and I got up to go find a nearby geocache. We walked up the road and saw this.
This was a little one! We didn’t go anywhere near him because you KNOW mama was very close by.
What was really funny, was about 25 yards away, was this sign. I could see both from where I was standing.
After finding the geocache, and coming back down the hill, he was still standing there.
