To begin, combine all of the ingredients except the chicken in your slow cooker. Stir together.
Nestle the chicken into the mixture and turn the chicken around to coat it with the mixture.
Cover your slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours.
Remove the chicken breasts to a cutting board and cut or shred the chicken. Discard any hard pieces of fat that you may find.
Return the chicken to the slow cooker and cook for 30-60 more minutes.

This recipe can also be made with boneless, skinless chicken thighs or a mixture of breasts and thighs.
