To begin, sauté the diced onion & green bell pepper and ground beef (or other meat) together until the beef is browned and cooked through.
Add in the seasonings and pizza sauce, stir well.
Optional: Add in the rough-chopped pepperoni slices
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
To serve, spoon the meat mixture onto a roll and top with a slice of cheese and enjoy!
Notes
This Pizza Joe recipe can easily be made ahead of time, and put in your slow cooker on "warm" to eat later in the day. It also freezes well! Make a double or triple batch and freeze the extra in portions for later. Thaw, heat and serve on buns for a fast meal anytime.For another variation, try chopping up some turkey pepperoni and adding it into the mixture for even more pizza flavor!
