Some days you just know that you are not going to have a minute to spare when it comes to dinner time. Thankfully these Pizza Joes take just a few minutes to make.

You could also make it ahead, and toss it all into your slow cooker and keep it on “warm” until dinner time!

It also freezes well. Make a double or triple batch and freeze the extra in portions for later. Thaw, heat and serve on buns for a fast meal anytime.

To Make This Recipe You Will Need:

  • onion
  • green bell pepper
  • ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • pizza sauce
  • sandwich rolls
  • sliced mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • large skillet with lid

To begin, sauté the diced onion & green bell pepper and ground beef (or other preferred ground meat) together until the beef is browned and cooked through.

Add in the seasonings and pizza sauce, stir well.

Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

To serve, spoon the meat mixture onto a roll and top with a slice of cheese and enjoy!

You could also stir in some sliced black olives, or even some chopped turkey pepperoni. This could also be spooned into a baked potato, or served over French fries. Your family will love this.

  • 2 lb ground beef, or turkey, chicken, venison, etc.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 30 oz pizza sauce, about 4 cups
  • sandwich rolls
  • sliced mozzarella or provolone cheese
