Line a 10-inch cast iron skillet with parchment paper. Set it aside for now.
In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar and melted butter. Stir it together.
Add in the eggs, one at a time, whisking each in as you go. Add in the vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Stir well to combine with a whisk. Be sure to scrape the bowl with a rubber spatula to make certain all of the ingredients are mixed in.
Spread the brownie batter in your prepared pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the brownies test done with a wooden pick.
Cool before cutting.
Enjoy!
Notes
Since publishing this recipe, I began making the brownies with some brown sugar. Instead of 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, I use 1 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. It makes the brownies even more moist and fudgy. You can also add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to this recipe. I would use about 1/3 cup since this is a smaller batch of brownies.
