How to make Homemade Vanilla Syrup, for coffee, ice cream, or anything you wish.
Look how beautiful this looks!
Vanilla syrup is very easy to make. This would also make a fun gift from your kitchen.
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar.
Split open a Vanilla bean, and scrape out the deep, dark insides.
Drop those into the saucepan. Cut the bean pods in half and drop those in as well.
Stirring continually, bring this up to a very gentle simmer over medium low heat. Simmer it for about 15 minutes and then remove it from the heat.
Discard the bean pods.
Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Allow it to completely cool and then pour it into a bottle or jar.
And there you go! Store this in your fridge.
The little bits of vanilla bean are just gorgeous floating in there.
If you don’t have access to vanilla beans, you can still make this. Just make it the same way, but increase the vanilla extract to 2 1/2 teaspoons.
