With onion infused burgers broiled while you sauté the lovely onions – these French Onion Burgers are a fun and flavorful weeknight supper.
To begin, preheat your broiler.
Slice a large onion very thinly.
In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and a tablespoon of butter.
Sprinkle in a half teaspoon of sugar. Sauté the onion over medium low heat until they are golden and tender and gorgeous.
While the onions are doing their thing, prepare your burgers. In a bowl combine 1 1/2 lb of ground beef, a teaspoon of onion powder, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and a half teaspoon each of salt & pepper.
Mix the beef and then form it into 6 burgers. Place these on your broiler pan and broil for about 5-6 minutes or until desired doneness, turning them over half way though.
When your onions are ready, pour in a half cup of beef broth and a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for just a minute.
Serve the burgers on rolls with lettuce and shredded Swiss cheese. Top with the golden onions and enjoy!

- While the onions are doing their thing, prepare your burgers.
- In a bowl combine the ground beef, onion powder, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and the salt & pepper. Mix the beef and then form it into 6 burgers.
- Place these on your broiler pan and broil for about 5-6 minutes or until desired doneness, turning them over half way though.

What is best to replace the Swiss cheese? Unfortunately I currently do not have this cheese
