One evening after the conference, we drove up to the quiet little town of Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu.

It was nice to get away from the busy, touristy side of the island, and enjoy the sights on this side.

3

We spent a little bit of time by the beach, and then walked through town to find somewhere to eat dinner.

Walking up the road, we crossed this bridge into town.

While I watched the people on the water back there, I noticed something moving in the water not far from me. At first I thought it was a person, or a seal, because the head was huge! I sat there for some time watching and trying to get a better look.

And then I realized…it was SEA TURTLES!!! They were HUGE!!! That was the highlight of the whole day!

The guys on the water were on their way out to the ocean, and were very friendly. I LOVED the dog on the board!

Further into town, I saw beautiful Guava Trees.

In the end, we ate dinner at Luibuenos. Kind of funny to go to Hawaii and eat Mexican food…but it was good, and the guacamole was fantastic!
