Classic homemade blondies are a simple treat to make…what is hard is keeping them from disappearing!

Homemade Blondies from Cosmoplitan Cornbread

To begin, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl combine 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir those together and set it aside for a moment.

In your mixing bowl, combine 1 stick (1/2 cup) of room temperature butter with 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Beat these together until fluffy.

Add in two eggs, one at a time, mixing the first completely in before adding the second.

Mix in 2 teaspoons of vanilla.

Add in your flour mixture and mix until it is well combined. Make sure to scrape the sides of your bowl with a rubber spatula to get everything mixed in.

Set aside the mixing bowl for a moment and finely chop 1/2 cup of pecans.

Then, finely chop a chocolate toffee bar (such as Heath or Skor)

Add the chopped pecans and candy bar to the dough and stir them in.

Spread the dough into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the blondies to cool to room temperature. But be careful…

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
