Store bought deodorizing spray for fabrics, upholstery and rugs is filled with questionable ingredients. Make your own spray with just a few simple and natural ingredients, and save some money in the process.
Homemade “Fab Fresh” as I like to call it, is easy to make, extremely economical and works great.
You can customize the scent with different oils depending upon the season too. Fresh lemon & citrus in the spring, lavender in the summer, or peppermint with vanilla in the winter. It is up to your imagination!
My favorite essential oil blend to use though, is lemon and eucalyptus. I’ll also add just a couple drops of peppermint. It is such a clean, refreshing fragrance!
How to Make Homemade Fabric & Upholstery Spray
You will need:
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup witch hazel
- 20 – 30 drops of essential oils
- 1 drop of castile soap (See note)
- 16 ounce spray bottle
Instructions:
To make the spray, simply combine the water, witch hazel, essential oils and castile soap in a 16 ounce spray bottle.
Shake to combine, and spray as needed. Give the bottle a shake periodically as you spray, just to keep everything combined.
Note: The single drop of castile soap helps the oils combine with the water and witch hazel. It is optional, but I highly recommend using it.
