On our drive down the Alcan, we made a stop at Milepost 516 at a small rest stop along side what is called “Whirlpool Canyon.”
Whirlpool canyon is a section of the Liard River where massive rapids form whirlpools, and “icebergs”,” logs and more get swirled around and around. The area is amazingly beautiful, so we spent some time here enjoying it.
Josh likes to give me more gray hair…getting WAY too close to edges of things.
This was Jeff’s Sasquatch impression…or rather his signal that it was time to get back on the road.
And when we pulled out, this guy watched us go from across the road.
Good photos you have. We were there July 17 and collected some beautiful rocks there.
It was such a beautiful place, very memorable.
