In this part of North Carolina, you don’t really see Spanish Moss. We are just too far north for it I guess. But in this one place, it is everywhere.

This is in an historic cemetery in downtown Fayetteville, NC.

I just find this stuff so beautiful and surreal.

  1. Forgot to tell you —-your photos were BEAUTIFUL. Some people think it makes the trees look dead – I think it makes the trees come to “life”. Love your website = blogs and especially the vlogs – makes me feel like i’m listening to an old friend telling me about her day.

  2. I could not agree more – I so miss living in the “deep south”. In our case, any place south of Montgomery Al. That’s the starting point for Spanish moss in this state. I lived in Mobile for 10 years – oh what a beautiful place – especially in the spring with the azaleas and moss. My friend and I were on a family history quest a few years back and checking with old cemetaries was a “hoot”, almost like a walking history lesson.
