I got this recipe from a good friend at my bible fellowship. I had arrived early and saw her making this and when I tried it, I was in love.
I shared this recipe years ago on my YouTube channel, but I never got around to sharing it here on Cosmopolitan Cornbread. I decided it was certainly time to make that happen.
This beef and cabbage recipe is so incredibly simple but still quite delicious. Give it a try!

To Make This Recipe You Will Need:
- ground beef
- onion powder
- cabbage
- garlic
- coconut aminos
- paprika
- salt
- large skillet with lid
To begin, you’ll simple brown some ground beef and onion powder (or granulated onion) in a large skillet that has a lid. The recipe as shared uses 1 pound of ground beef, but you can up this to 2 pounds if you want a meatier version.
When the ground beef is browned, you’ll add in 3 or 4 cloves of minced garlic.
You’ll add in shredded cabbage – half a head if the head is big, but if it is small you could use the whole thing.
Thinly slice the cabbage, discarding the stem. Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet along with paprika, salt and coconut aminos. You could also use soy sauce if you don’t have any but I prefer the coconut aminos.
It may seem like too much cabbage at first, but the cabbage will wilt down quickly.
Carefully mix it, a pair of tongs work best. It’s okay if it isn’t fully mixed at first. You’ll stir this several times as it cooks and it will eventually all get mixed together.
Throw the cover on the skillet and cook it until the cabbage is the level of doneness that you prefer, usually around. 10 minutes.
Enjoy!

Easy, quick and very tasty! Thank you for posting your recipes!
So glad you enjoyed it!
This was a quick, delicious, keto friendly dinner for my husband and me. While it was delicious as is, and because we don’t eat strictly keto, I might try adding some shredded carrots and onions next time to boost the veggie content. Perfect for those nights you need something delicious AND nutritious in a hurry 😊
Thank you! It is definitely able to be modified to your liking :D
This is not a new recipe for me as I have made beef and cabbage for a long time. However, I added beef broth not the soy sauce. So, I tried your version and I like it better! Sometimes I will top it with some cheese. So quick and easy!!
So glad you liked it!
Followed recipe. Was pretty tasty. Next day I added heavy cream, a crushed chicken bouillon cube, and some grated Asiago cheese to simmer/sauce it up for a leftover lunch. Poured it over leftover rice cauliflower. Thanks for the share. Shalom
Ooo! Great tip for the leftovers!
