This Bourbon Banana Bread is moist and full of flavor and topped with a crunchy Praline Topping. This will be your new favorite banana bread ever!
I have several banana bread recipes here on Cosmopolitan Cornbread, including a paleo variety, but this is by far my favorite version ever.
The bourbon doesn’t make the banana bread taste like liquor, but rather it gives the banana bread a richer, amazing flavor. You will love this too!

To begin, preheat your oven to 350°(F).
Coat a standard loaf pan (9×5″) with butter and set aside for now.
In your mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Stir it together and set it aside for now.
Beat 2 eggs with a whisk in another bowl.
Add in very ripe bananas. I use my potato masher to mash the bananas and mix in the eggs at the same time.
Add in some brown sugar, melted butter, and bourbon. Stir it together.
Add your banana mixture to your dry ingredients and mix well with a whisk.
Stir in the chopped pecans.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
To make the praline topping, combine finely chopped pecans, turbinado sugar, and vanilla extract in a small bowl and stir well.
Sprinkle the praline mixture over the top of the banana bread batter.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the banana bread tests done with a wooden skewer/toothpick.
After the first 30 minutes of baking, cover with a tent of aluminum foil to prevent the bread from over-browning.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
Carefully remove the bread from the pan and cool on a rack.
Enjoy!
This Bourbon Banana Bread with Praline Topping is best stored in an airtight container. The banana bread can be frozen, but the integrity of the topping is sometime degraded. I recommend eating it fresh!
