One of my favorite treats to enjoy when we go out for German food is a heavenly Eiskaffee.
You honestly can not get any easier when it comes to a dessert beverage, which is what this post is all about today.
An Eiskaffee is nothing more than coffee and ice cream.
Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a serving glass. (For a paleo version, use a paleo-friendly ice cream.)
Pour in 6 ounces of strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso.
That is it!
If you like, you can make the coffee ahead of time and chill it, then pour it over the ice cream. The ice cream wouldn’t melt as fast that way and it would be sort of like a “coffee float.” You can also get craaaazy and make this with chocolate ice cream.
Oh. My. Goodness.
Eiskaffee

Hello, I am a student from Tulane University and I was wondering if I may use one of your photos for an article I am writing for Spoon University?
I’m e-mailing you directly :)
Seriously, those pictures! Absolutely stunning.
Thank you Lauren!
Oh my!I need this right now!!Totally Drool Worthy :)
I haven’t had this in years (would have been one time in Germany/Austria) but seeing this I might have to make it soon!
Chocolate ice cream would be crazy and delicious!
This looks heavenly!!!
I think I will be having this with espresso very very soon. Very soon. Did I say VERY soon? Yum.
I love ordering coffee-desserts when we go out for dinner, but I’ve never done it at home. The easy recipe and beautiful photos have me adding ice cream to my grocery list so that I can make it this week!
This sounds wonderful!
yES please! Is it wrong that I’d have this for breakfast?
Not wrong – encouraged even! ;)
Oh my…..absolutely chocolate ice cream and ice cold coffee for a mocha eiskafee.. I love this.
You have brought back so many great memories of me having this in Germany. Thank you.
I have never heard of eiskaffee before, but it sounds like the perfect easy to make treat, especially as we head into cooler weather.
Now THIS is one delicious way to enjoy coffee! Gorgeous photos, Constance!!
Thank you Liz!
